Terms of Service
Effective October 11, 2026. Plain English, because that's how we'd want to read it.
Who we are
Instant Metal Signs (instantmetalsigns.com) is run by Gavin Ridley in Austin, Texas. Signs are laser-cut from steel by a fabrication partner in the United States and shipped straight to you. Email help@instantmetalsigns.com with any question about these terms.
What you're buying
Every sign is made to order from a design you approved. The preview you see before ordering is rendered from the exact cutting file we send to the laser: what you see is what we cut. Please look it over carefully, including spelling, before you buy. We promise the sign will substantially match that preview within the limits of laser-cut sheet metal; beyond that, it's sold as-is, with no promise that it suits any particular purpose.
Signs are solid galvanized steel in the thickness you choose (0.030 inches standard, up to 0.074), with a bare-metal finish that will weather naturally over time. The preview is a rendering; real steel has a texture and sheen of its own, and small variations from the picture are normal.
Your design and your words
You type the words and a description; our software turns them into a design. You're responsible for what you enter. Please don't use text or imagery you don't have the right to use, such as someone else's trademark, logo, or team mark, and don't ask for anything hateful, threatening, or sexually explicit. Our system screens requests and will refuse some; we also refuse, by hand, any order we're not comfortable cutting. In that case you're never charged.
Signs are decorative. We won't make anything intended to work as a weapon or a part of one (including firearm components, frames, or receivers), anything related to illegal drugs, or anything that's unlawful to make or ship. We also don't make load-bearing or safety-critical parts; a sign is a sign.
By ordering, you give us permission to use your design to make your sign, including sending the cutting file and your shipping details to our fabrication partner. If someone claims that text or imagery you asked for infringes their rights, that's between you and them; you agree to cover us for any such claim.
Your finished sign is yours to use however you like. We don't publish customer designs without asking you first.
Prices and payment
Prices are shown in US dollars and include shipping within the United States. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see your card number.
When you order, your card is authorized but not charged. A real person checks that your design will cut cleanly, usually within one business day. If we accept it, we charge your card and send it to production. If we can't make it, we release the hold and email you to explain; you pay nothing. Released holds can take your bank several business days to clear.
You can cancel any time before we accept your order by emailing us. Once accepted, the order goes to the laser within hours and can't be cancelled or changed, so see our returns policy.
Shipping and delivery
We ship within the United States only. Delivery estimates are our best guess, not a promise; weather, carriers, and fabrication queues sometimes add days. We'll email you tracking when your sign ships. If a package is lost or arrives damaged, we deal with the carrier; you deal only with us (see returns).
Safety
A laser-cut sign is a piece of cut steel: edges, corners, and the inside of letters can be sharp enough to scratch or cut skin. Wear gloves when unpacking and mounting, keep signs out of reach of small children, and mount them securely with fasteners suited to your wall or post. By ordering, you accept that you'll handle and mount your sign with ordinary care.
Problems with your sign
If your sign arrives damaged, differs from the preview you approved, or has a manufacturing defect, we'll make it right. See the returns policy for exactly how.
The fine print
We provide this site as-is and do our honest best to keep it working, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. We're not liable for indirect losses, or for how a sign is mounted or used once it's yours. Nothing here limits rights the law gives you that can't be waived.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. If we change them, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date; orders are covered by the terms in effect when you placed them.
